What is burnout?

Burnout is a state of physical, emotional and mental exhaustion caused by chronic stress and excessive demands in the work context. It manifests itself through symptoms such as persistent fatigue, reduced performance, a negative attitude towards work and emotional detachment. Burnout can lead to serious health problems if it is not treated.
